LIGHTNING

PALE ALE

An iconic sight and roar in Lincolnshire skies until 1988 the Lightning was the first and last all-British supersonic jet fighter. This refreshing pale ale with heaps of hops and an explosion of fresh citrus flavour notes pays homage to a remarkable aircraft and an example of innovative British design

BREWERY

Axholme Brewing Company was founded by Mike and Jules Richards in 2012, starting with a 400L brewkit housed in an unprepossessing industrial unit in Scunthorpe.

From the beginning the emphasis has been on consistency, quality and inventiveness. It was important to create great examples of classic styles and also to utilise seasonal and home grown ingredients in our wide range of guest beers.

In early 2013 we moved to a site at 7 Lakes Country Park in Crowle, on a new 600L brewplant to increase production. Our beers were being sold all around the country and our bottled beers were being painstakingly bottled by hand and sold to bottle shops, festivals and markets.

In 2017 we set up a new brewhouse to meet our ever growing demand. The brand new 2500L plant was installed in Grimsby and features an on site tap room where beers can be drunk while watching us work!

As well as our flagship Cleethorpes Pale Ale we produce a shifting roster of guest beers. All are available in cask, keykeg, pin and bottles (so they can be enjoyed at home.) You can find our beer in pubs, bars, hotels, restaurants and bottle shops all over Lincolnshire and beyond.
